FARES: The Hornby Island ferry's crew
collects fares. Cash or Travelers' cheques only
please. Credit cards cannot be accepted. You can
pay fares for both islands at Buckley Bay on
Vancouver Island, where credit cards are
accepted.

TRANSPORTATION
Bus service to Buckley Bay from Nanaimo (80
kilometres south) and Courtenay is provided by Island
Coach Lines. Rail service from Courtenay and points south is provided by the E&N Railroad on a daily
basis. Daily local bus service runs from Buckley Bay to Courtenay.
B.C. Ferries Corp. operates two vessels and provides regularly scheduled sailings between Vancouver
Island, Denman Island and Hornby Island. There is no public transportation system
available on the
Islands.
B.C. Ministry of Highways is responsible for all public roads and ongoing maintenance is currently
contracted out to a private contractor.
Hornby/Denman Freight Co., located in Fanny Bay, provides freight services.
